Canyon Lake All-Stars Raising Money for Trip to Indianapolis
After winning the North Dakota – South Dakota District Tournament last week, the Canyon Lake Little League team is gearing up compete in the Midwest Regional Tournament next month in Indianapolis.
In the meantime, the team is busy raising money to help with travel expenses.
The players were outside of Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson and Ashmore Law Firm in Rapid City Thursday night selling raffle tickets for upcoming Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos games.
The team will continue to raise funds over the next few days before they travel to Indianapolis for their first game on Monday, August 10th.
Canyon Lake parent Jocelyn Hafner says, “The community has been awesome. We've had so much support. We have a lot of baseball fans here in Rapid City and so we're very thankful for our Rapid City Community and the surrounding communities as well.”
Canyon Lake outfielder Rylan Wilson says, “We have a little nerves. But for the most part, we're pretty excited.”
Canyon Lake outfielder Hunter Tillery says, “It's obviously an accomplishment to go back to back years. Right off the bat, we were just trying to get out of the Sub-Districts and Districts. So now I guess we have a goal to get out of Indy.”
If would like to donate to the Canyon Lake Little League All-Stars, contributions can be sent to P.O. Box 9072, Rapid City, SD 57702.
