Buffalo Round-Up contributes to Custer’s economic growth

CUSTER, S.D. – The 54th Buffalo Round-Up is headed to Custer State Park this Friday.

Thousands of buffalo will run through the hills and into their corral and hundreds will also be auctioned off.

Other than the fact that it is a beautiful sight to see, it is also beneficial for Custer’s local economy.

“People are staying overnight especially Thursday night. They’re at our hotels, they’re at our restaurants eating dinner, they’re at the gift shops buying stuff,” said Dolsee Davenport, the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce.

This gives the community one last economic boost before the tourist season is over.

You can catch the round-up Friday first thing in the morning at Custer State Park.
