RAPID CITY, S.D. – It’s time to start thinking about when you’re going to get your flu shot this season.

According to Dr. Stephen Neabore with Monument Health, it’s better to get your flu shot sooner rather than later. “We never really know when flu season is actually going to start up. So the earlier you get it, the sooner you’re protected. There is a little bit of a lag time between when you get the flu shot verses when your antibodies start producing and you are protected from the flu. So generally, it’s about a week to ten days or so,” said Dr. Neabore.

So NewsCenter1’s Samantha Chadwell and Brant Beckman decided to go and get there’s on Monday at the clinic on Flormann Street in Rapid City.
