Box Elder structure fire held to a single alarm

BOX ELDER, S.D. — The Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of smoke visible in a residential structure at 125 West Gate Rd. in Box Elder late Friday night.

Firefighters who arrived first on scene found a free burning fire with a heavy smoke condition, issuing from the single-story residential structure.

The firefighters were able to confine the fire to the structure of origin, holding the fire to a single alarm.

The structure received extensive damage, and there were no injuries reported to the firefighters, civilians or domestic animals.
