Box Elder residents gather for winter market and tree lighting

BOX ELDER, S.D. — Speaking of Christmas, a little holiday cheer was spread at the Box Elder Winter Market and tree lighting.

Be Tree Lighting 5At Box Elder City Call, vendors, food trucks and live music kicked off the evening which turned into a cake walk for the children.

It was organized by the city but sponsored by businesses in the city.

Families from all around the area gathered for free hot chocolate, smores, and much more.

“They can walk around, do artwork and things for the kids so they can get free hot chocolate,” said Box Elder Mayor Larry Larson. “They can do some more is outside on the fire pits and and so it’s nice to track people to come out and and get him to want to get together.”

Before the tree lighting, the children were even able to grab a picture with Santa.
