Box Elder looks at business development project off East Mall Drive

BOX ELDER, S.D. — Box Elder is looking to grow business and create jobs off of East Mall Drive.

The city will develop the land in the area of East Malls Drive and Elk Vale Road with the Bradsky family, which owns several local businesses, to develop a parcel of land near East Mall Drive.

They hope to develop industrial-zoned businesses for the city.

On Monday, the Public Works Committee approved staff recommendations for the $8 million dollar endeavor.

Heavy Constructors is the low bidder on the project.

According to Box Elder Public Works Director Bob Kaufman, “The city will also be adding additional sewer and water lines for the development.”

The recommendations will now move on to the city council.

They hope to have the project complete by the summer of 2020.
