UPDATE: Explosives detection canine went through entire WDT campus in response to a bomb threat early Friday morning

UPDATE: An explosives detection canine from the State Highway Patrol has gone through the entire WDT campus and no traces of explosives were found.

WDT campus will continue to be on secured status as law enforcement works to clear the scene.

Public is still advised to avoid the area.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Police Department reported that a bomb threat has been made at Western Dakota Tech at around 9 a.m. Friday morning.

As of 10 a.m., the WDT campus was still on a secure status.

Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and the State Highway Patrol were also on the scene, sweeping the building.
