BoBtanical Pantry: Winter Squash Supper

Winter Squash Supper

Cooked and mashed winter squash (butternut or buttercup, for example)
1 lb. Apples, peeled, cored and sliced
Cinnamon and Sugar
Sausage (either fried loose sausage or fried sliced link)
Salt and Pepper
Cook the apples with cinnamon and sugar to taste until tender and syrupy (I use the microwave)
Mix squash with salt and pepper to taste and cover the bottom of a baking dish with the baked squash (about 1 inch deep)
Arrange cut up sausage or fried loose sausage on top
Layer the apples over the sausage (1/2-1 inch deep)
Bake at 350° until heated through ( 15-20 minutes)
