BoBtanical Garden: Plant Share

The Pennington County Master Gardeners will hold their annual Plant Share on Saturday, May 19.

You can bring your plant to the Erickson Building at 329 N. Third St. from 8-9 a.m. This was previously The Club for Boys Thrift Store located by The Journey Museum and Learning Center.

The plant share begins at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy refreshments while you wait and enter for door prizes.

Donating plants is a good way to thin your landscape. The Master Gardeners ask that you pot the plants ahead of time and label them.

Exchange your plant for a blue ticket that’s good for up to four plants or seed packets.

And if you don’t have plants to share, purchase a yellow ticket for $1, which is also good for up to four plants or seed packets. There is a limit of three coupons per person.

Blue tickets will be called first and in numerical order.

You can also bring a bucket and shovel to take some free compost home.

The event is sponsored by the Pennington County Master Gardeners, the Garden Club, Rapid City Solid Waste Division, and The Club for Boys.
