Black Hills State men advance to the Elite Eight

LUBBOCK, TX – The NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament continued Tuesday with the Sweet 16.

Black Hills State squared off against Colorado Mesa and the Yellow Jackets defeated the Mavericks, 72-62.

The Yellow Jackets win the South Central Regional Championship and now advance to the Elite Eight.

Joel Scott led Black Hills State with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

He also became BHSU’s all-time single-season scoring leader with 743 points.

Scott broke the previous record of 733.

The Elite Eight will be held in Evansville, IN from March 22-26.

The final eight teams will be re-seeded which will determine Black Hills State’s next opponent and game time.
