Black Hills Pregnancy Center hosts Walk/Run for Life

RAPID CITY, S.D. – On Saturday, the Black Hills Pregnancy Center held its 5K Run/ Walk for Life at Storybook Island.

The walk was to bring awareness to unplanned pregnancy and encourage people to choose life. The pregnancy center provides resources for women and men who are faced with an unplanned pregnancy.

Many of the resources provide information on sexual health, the life cycle from conception, counseling and more. They provide free pregnancy tests, an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy, and they inform clients on their options.

“We’re here to walk them through that. We have advocates who are here to be peer mentors and we show them that you know, even as a single mother you are empowered to be a single mother and take care of that child. That’s what we do here, we make sure they have medical facts about all of their options,” said executive director Travis Lasseter.

The organization does encourage choosing life but they also provide post-abortion support for those who choose that route.
