Black Hills National Forest to burn slash piles near Custer

CUSTER, S.D. — The Black Hills National Forest announced on Monday that they will be burning approximately 50 slash piles south of the intersection of 18 Mile Road and Pleasant Valley, southwest of Custer.

According to a release from Great Plains Fire Information, the project is estimated to take up to five days to complete.

The piles are sitting on approximately 500 acres of National Forest System land.
