Black Hills Federal Credit Union kicks off school supply drive

RAPID CITY, SD — While the first day of school is still just over a month away, there’s an effort to make sure students have the right supplies.

Black Hills Federal Credit Union has kicked off its 23rd annual school supply drive. Students are in need of basic supplies such as markers, colored pencils and paper.

As Rapid City grows, Black Hills Federal says the supply drive is more crucial than ever.

“We’re finding that the need for school supplies grows every year as the student population and the areas we serve kind of grows every year,” said Black Hills Federal Community Development Officer Heidi Bulman, “We donate supplies to all the areas we serve from Rapid City to Spearfish to Pierre, Wall, all the way to Sioux Falls.”

Donations can be dropped off at any BHFCU location.

Also on Wednesday, Black Hills Federal is holding their Caramel Roll Sale at the downtown Rapid City branch, with all of the proceeds going to Rapid City kids.
