Emmy award-winning journalist Eric Greene joined NewsCenter1 in January 2018.
Eric started his TV news career earlier than most. He was only 19, a sophomore at Tulane University in New Orleans, when he landed a job anchoring a five-minute newscast on a small independent station.
Greene has more than 30 years’ experience in television markets both large and small, including more than a decade covering the Midwest. He has anchored and hosted talk shows in San Francisco, Cleveland, Connecticut, Vermont, West Virginia, and most recently Peoria, Ill.
Greene says he has been fortunate to have interviewed several presidents, including Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. He also interviewed Ronald Reagan when he returned to his hometown of Dixon, Ill. for a birthday celebration.
Greene has also done extensive international reporting, from London, Israel and Poland, where he produced a documentary on a Holocaust survivor returning to her homeland for the first time since the end of World War II. “A Search for Peace” is archived by Steven Spielberg in the Film and Video Archives at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.
Eric is married with a son and two daughters and an exceptionally brilliant and beautiful granddaughter.
