Missing report for biker headed to the Black Hills canceled

UPDATE (4:00 P.M. 7/28/21) — Sheridan County Sheriffs Office of Plentywood, M.T., cancelled the Missing Person Alert for 53 year-old Kevin Olsen.

Using airplane and cell phone location data, law enforcement was able to locate Olsen on Highway 5 West, just west of Plentywood.

Olsen was in a motorcycle accident on the highway and was declared deceased.

Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.


RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Montana man believed to be heading to the Black Hills on his motorcycle has been reported missing.

Kevin Olsen, 53, of Plentywood, M.T. was last seen on Saturday, July 24, on his blue 2008 Honda Motorcycle. He is 5’9″, with blue eyes, gray hair, and weighs 185lbs.

Olsen is on medication for a heart condition and there is concern for his health and welfare.
