BHSU men open RMAC Tournament with convincing win over New Mexico Highlands

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament tipped off Tuesday in Spearfish.

Black Hills State is the top seed in the tournament after capturing the RMAC regular season title with a league-best 17-4 record.

Black Hills State hosted New Mexico Highlands in the opening round and the Yellow Jackets hammered the Cowboys, 102-76.

BH guard Sindou Cisse led all scorers with a career-best 29 points.

Joel Scott, the leading scorer in the RMAC, finished with 22 points for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets advance to the RMAC semifinals and will host UC Colorado Springs on Friday.

 

RMAC Women’s Basketball

Meanwhile, the Black Hills State women’s basketball team fell to CSU Pueblo, 59-52 in the first round of the RMAC Tournament.

Danica Kocer and Raven Cournoyer led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points a piece.
