BHSU Foundation to increase scholarship dollars after record donation year

Bhsu App 13SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Black Hills State University Foundation says they’re increasing their scholarship dollars by $300,000 after a record-breaking year of donations.

The BHSU and Yellow Jack Foundations and BHSU Alumni Association Foundation collected $13.2 million dollars in 2021. Additionally, employee giving increase 226% from 2020.

“I am proud of the growing support from alumni and friends who have donated to BHSU over the years,” Vice President of Institutional Advancement Steve Meeker said. “It really shows the appreciation and love that they have for BHSU. The foundation is looking forward to another capital campaign in the very near future.”

The BHSU Foundation will now include scholarships from $1,000 to $4,000 annually for up to four years for students with at least a 3.0 GPA and 30 credit hours completed each year.

February 25 with mark BHSU’s 139th anniversary. They will be hosting their annual “Giving Day” to celebrate.
