Bernie Sanders announces 2020 presidential bid

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bernie Sanders is again running for president. The Independent Senator from Vermont released an official video this morning making the announcement.

Sanders says his 2020 campaign will focus on income inequality and reducing corruption in Washington.

His other major goals include expanding health care, reducing the cost of higher education, raising minimum wage and fighting climate change.

Many of his policies that were once thought of as too far left, such as Medicare-for-all, have been adopted by mainstream Democrats.

According to Sanders, “As a result of millions of Americans standing up and fighting back, all of these policies, and more are now supported by a majority of Americans.”

Sanders joins a field of more than a dozen others in the race for the Democratic nomination.
