Being safe while having fun at the lake
How water safety can prevent disaster
RAPID CITY, S.D. — With the temperature getting warmer and warmer, it is important to stay safe while out at the lake this Summer. The activities you will experience this time of year will probably involve water. But there are some preventative measures you can take to assure your safety. Wearing a life jacket may be something you overlook at the time, but it can save your life. When the rapids become to fast or your kayak tips over a life preserver may just be the key to your survival.
Not only is it essential to stay safe while in the water, keeping your body and mind safe on land with water is just as imperative. Going to the lake may mean having a few adult beverages along the way. But remembering to stay hydrated with water while you do so can keep you safe from overheating.
