Beaujolais Nouveau makes its way to dinner tables across the world
Each year on the third Thursday in November, Les Vins Georges Dubeauf releases its Beaujolais Nouveau wines to the world.
What started as a French celebration now attracts worldwide fanfare.
Bottled just a few weeks after the harvest, these wines are meant to be enjoyed young.
With the correlation between wine and art, each year Georges Dubeauf has an artist label contest, where over a thousand artists compete for the covenant label.
Local couple Karen and Verne Goodsell celebrate the harvest each year and say the wine goes well with your Thanksgiving feast favorites.
Verne Goodsell with Goodsell + Oviatt Law Firm, says, “But because it tends to be a little bit lighter, it’s dark in color but light in texture and strength and structure, is that it goes with, you know, the white meats, pork BBQ – that type of thing.”
Check local distributors for availability of this year’s new wine.
Goodsell also mentions, “It’s a great wine to start out with, it’s amazing how many people are beer drinkers or not wine drinkers and they taste the Beaujolais and they say, ‘I like this stuff’.”
