Basketball Roundup: Juneau Jones scores 23 points to lead Central over Stevens

RAPID CITY, S.D.   –  Rapid City Central hosted Rapid City Stevens on Tuesday night in girls basketball.

It marked the second meeting of the year between these two teams. Just three weeks ago, the Raiders knocked off the Cobblers by 13 points.

But the Cobblers came out strong and used a 12-4 first quarter run to beat the Raiders, 52-44.

Juneau Jones led the Cobblers with 23 points and six rebounds. Whitley Heitsch added 13 points for Central.

Meanwhile, Bailee Sobczak was the only Stevens player in double figures with 12 points. Kenadi Rising, Kyah Watson and Elizabeth Schaefer each scored 9 points for the Raiders.

Central, 8-10, is at Spearfish on Thursday, Feb. 21, while Stevens, 13-6, will host Spearfish on Feb. 25 to wrap up the regular season.
