Basketball Roundup: Hardrockers split doubleheader with the Yellow Jackets
RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted Black Hills State on Saturday in their final home games of the regular season.
Women’s Basketball
The Lady Hardrockers jumped out to a big lead in the first half and held on to beat the Yellow Jackets, 61-58.
Ryan Weiss led South Dakota Mines with 17 points followed by Naomi Hidalgo with 12 points and Bailey Johnson with 11.
Meanwhile, Black Hills State was led by Danica Kocer with 28 points.
The Hardrockers improve to 6-14 in the conference and 6-20 overall.
The Yellow Jackets are now 14-5 in the conference and 16-9 overall.
Men’s Basketball
Black Hills State completed the season sweep over South Dakota Mines with a 79-65 victory on Saturday.
Joel Scott led all scorers with 27 points. Sindou Cisse added 16 for the Yellow Jackets.
The Hardrockers were led by Kolten Mortensen with 18 points.
Black Hills State improves to 17-7 overall and 15-4 in the RMAC, while South Dakota Mines falls to 9-17 overall and 7-13 in the conference.
