BASEBALL: Post 320 upsets Brandon Valley, shuts out Spearfish

RAPID CITY, S.D. – With the playoffs just around the corner, Rapid City Post 320 entered the weekend ranked No. 11 in the latest standings.

But the Stars made up some ground on Sunday as they defeated both Brandon Valley and Spearfish at Pete Lien Field.


RC Post 320 – 4, Brandon Valley 1

Brandon Valley scored a run in the third inning.

But Post 320 rallied in the fifth inning with four runs and the Stars defeated Brandon Valley, 4-1.

Logan Ammerman led the Stars with two RBIs.

Mitchell Sand pitched all seven innings for Post 320, allowing one run on five hits while striking out three.

Post 320 shut out Spearfish on Sunday, 17-0.

The Stars scored seven runs in the second inning and never looked back.

The Stars were led by Drake Hassett and J.T Kostenbauer who both had three hits and two RBIs.

Post 320, along with Post 22 will be hosting the Veterans Classic from June 16-19.

Games will be played at both Pete Lien Field and Fitzgerald Stadium.
