Bar K9 looking to bring Humane Society of the Black Hills some ‘howliday’ help

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Bar K9’s Second Annual PetsGiving Supply Drive is officially underway. All items brought in will be donated to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.

Bar K Donation Drop OffLocated in Rushmore Mall next to the JCPenney’s, the location is a main focal point in the building, where people can just drop off supplies and go about the rest of their day.

The Humane Society released a list of the items they need, with food for dogs and cats among many others.

“Things that they’re looking for is bedding towels, dog food, cat food, things like that; toys. And we really just want to help those pets that are in need,” Bar K9 co-owner Emily Batman said. “And also help the Humane Society because obviously they’re needing the community to help give items to those pets so that they can have some sort of normalcy within the shelter.”

After the November 30 deadline, the supplies will then be brought to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.

Of course, Bar K9 did not forget about the two-legged companions bringing in donations.

“We’ll drop the supplies off at the humane society the first week of December,” Batman explained. “At that time, every person that comes in throughout the month that gives a donation, we write their information down and then we will do a drawing at the end for some prizes.”

Their next event is in December. For $10, dog owners will be able to have their dog’s picture taken with Santa. All of the money raised from the event will got to STARS (Save Them All Rescue Service) Hot Springs.
