Back-To-School Resource Fair hosted at Rushmore Mall

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Over 20 organizations tabled at Rushmore Mall this afternoon for the Back-To-School Resource Fair. The event was hosted on Saturday by South Dakota Parent Connection.

Resources included information on physical health, mental health, and resources were for both parents and students. Topics ranged from balanced diets, to consent, along with addiction and recovery services.

The fair even hosted a tent for back-to-school vision screening.

“I know as a parent of a child with a disability it’s a little overwhelming. We really want to empower parents and enrich lives,” said Lisa Merchen, who helped organize the fair.

This was the first year that the resource fair was at the mall and Parent Connection plans to do it again next year.
