Authorities respond to vehicle fire near Exit 61

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Fire Department says it’s responding to a vehicle fire that was reported in the area of Exit 61 in Rapid City.

The RCFD says the fire was extinguished before Engine 7 and Battalion 1 arrived.

However, they’re asking the public to drive carefully if they’re traveling on the westbound on-ramp at the exit.

Motorists should slow down and move over in order to keep crews and others safe as they clean up the scene.
