Authorities respond to two separate incidents of vehicles hitting buildings

RAPID CITY, S.D. — According to the Rapid City Fire Department, authorities responded to two separate incidents of vehicles hitting buildings in Rapid City on Tuesday.

At about 4 p.m. the RCFD tweeted that it had units headed out to a report that a vehicle crashed into a house in the 2700 block of West Flormann Street. According to the caller, all occupants of the residence evacuated the home.

The Rapid City Police Department says the driver of the vehicle had a medical emergency and drove into the fence of the residence before hitting the home. The driver received medical attention and no one else was injured. The home sustained minor damage.

Less than ten minutes after the first call, the fire department tweeted that a second report of a car crashing into a building had come in. This one occurred at LaCrosse Estates Apartments on East Anamosa Street. Officials say that the crash caused damage to a garage, but there were no injuries.
