Authorities identify 3 people charged in midnight chase on Highway 79
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Authorities say there were two separate chases on Highway 79 within the span of 24 hours this week.
The first chase happened around midnight on Monday. Authorities attempted to stop a Hyundai Sedan when it sped away. The chase reached high speeds at times.
Eventually police stopped the vehicle at the Flying J in Hermosa.
They say Oscar Saucedo, 24, and Troy Weston Junior, 25, both of Pine Ridge were arrested.
Additionally, Shonda Morrison, 30, of Rapid City was cited.
Charges are pending against all three with the state.
The second pursuit happened around 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and lasted for 45-minutes, almost making it into Rapid City.
