Attempted casino robber taken down by patrons
Rapid City Police have taken into custody an attempted casino robber.
Just before 10 p.m. Monday, police responded to 1200 E. Saint Patrick Street, where they made contact with 36-year-old Thomas Fasthorse. Fasthorse was being held down on the ground by several patrons of the business.
Witnesses told police Fasthorse walked behind the bar and physically threatened the bartender. He then slammed his fist on the cash register to open it. They say Fasthorse began punching the bartender several times before grabbing cash and attempting to leave. Another person in the business approached Fasthorse and held him in a headlock until police arrived.
Fasthorse was sent to Rapid City Regional Hospital for several injuries received in the altercation before being medically cleared. He was then taken to the Pennington County Jail for 2nd Degree Robbery.
