At least 13 killed in traffic accidents during Sturgis Rally

The South Dakota Highway Patrol reports another fatality on area roads. That makes 13 killed in traffic accidents since July 28.

Around 12:30 Saturday, Troopers responded to an accident seven miles north of Sturgis on South Dakota Higway 79. Larry Kaduce, 57, St. Peter, MN, was driving a motorcycle northbound when he attempted to pass two pickups pulling campers. Kaduce collided head-on with a southbound semi-truck. He was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway Patrol reports that Kaduce was not wearing a helmet, and the driver of the semi-truck was not injured. There are no charges being filed in this incident.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol also reports 152 accidents resulting in injuries and 220 DUI arrests since July 28.
