Artists of the Black Hills invites the public to attend Miniature Holiday Art Show

Artists of the Black Hills is inviting the public to attend their Miniature Holiday Art Show at Prairie Edge in Rapid City Friday, Dec. 2 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where artists showcase original work and collectors have a chance to build on their collections.

Prairie Edge Gallery has been a member gallery of Artists of the Black Hills since the group was organized in 2005 and it is one of the premiere art galleries and retail outlets for fine art in the Black Hills. This will be the fifth time the group has had a Miniature Holiday Art Show with Prairie Edge.

The artists are professionals based in the region, and they are represented by different galleries throughout the Black Hills – in some cases across the state. They work in different mediums from oil, watercolor, sculpture, acrylics, assemblages and photography.

Great Small Works 10Some artists like to do cleaner pieces where they go on location and paint scenes. Every one of them has a little different take on living in the Black Hills, so they lend themselves well to people that are coming to the area and want to have a souvenir piece that reminds them of their time in the Black Hills. Every piece is going to be unique.

Artists of the Black Hills is trying to encourage people to collect art, so the art at the Miniature Holiday Art Show will range from $90 to $600 depending on the artist.

The reception for the Miniature Holiday Art Show will give everyone an opportunity to meet with the artists, and it will be held Friday, Dec. 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fine Art Gallery at Prairie Edge.
