Sioux Falls police have issued an arrest warrant for a man believed to be involved in a deadly shooting that happened in Sioux Falls over the weekend.

Authorities say Ramon Deron Smith is charged with second degree murder, manslaughter, two acts of attempted murder and six acts of aggravated assault.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of an apartment building on Saturday, when a group of eight men allegedly came to the apartment to settle an ongoing dispute.

A witness said someone pounded on the apartment Smith was in and tried to turn the door handle.

Meanwhile, 42-year-old Larry Eugene Carr Jr. came out of his apartment to chat with one of his co-workers, who was among the group of men.

At that point, Smith allegedly came outside and began shooting into the group. Bullets hit Carr, along with two other men, ages 20 and 24.

Carr later passed away from his injuries, while the other two men were hospitalized. One was shot in the torso and the other was shot in the head.

Smith is approximately six feet tall and weighs 260 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if recognized. Contact the Sioux Falls Area Task Force at 605-367-4268 if you have any information.
