Area fire services extinguish wildland fire near Rockerville

ROCKERVILLE, S.D. — Just after 2 p.m., the Rockerville Volunteer Fire Department and other area firefighters responded to Strato Rim Road for a report of a wildland fire threatening a structure.

Due to the information that the RVFD received, a second alarm was immediately requested. The United States Forest Services provided needed help on scene that allowed the RVFD to be able to save the structure from the fire.

Other responding units included:

State Wildland Fire, Whispering Pines VFD, and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.
