BOX ELDER, S.D. — The City of Box Elder continues to grow, as it anticipated a population increase within the next few years.
A new child development center in the town is in its final phases of construction and is expected to open towards the end of August.
Candyland Child Development will be right down the street from Ellsworth’s Main Gate. The center will house 140 children between the ages of four-weeks-old and 12-years-old.
They also offer transportation and a virtual portal where parents can view their kids from cameras in each individual classroom.
“I believe at this point right now, we’re close to 70 to 75% capacity so we’ve got a pretty good start on it and we’ll probably do some type of open house or pre-open house, the week of [opening],” says co-owner, Levi Christman.
Christman encourages people to enroll their children and apply for work on the Candyland website.
