Another playground dedicated in memory of Kenadi Jean Weis
SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Kenadi Jean Weis Foundation dedicated another playground in her memory at Jorgensen Park on Saturday afternoon.
Kenadi was born with a brain injury which led to her having developmental delays and being non-verbal At just 5 and a half years old she passed away from pneumonia.
All the parks that are dedicated in her memory are inclusive playgrounds, which means that they are friendly for people of all abilities.
The playground is wheelchair accessible with all-inclusive swing seats. The ground surrounding the equipment is also padded which makes it a safe space to crawl.
“Why wouldn’t all the playgrounds be all-inclusive and have the ability to accommodate kids of all abilities,” said Kelly Weis-Schultz, the President of the foundation.
There are several playgrounds in Spearfish that are all-inclusive and dedicated to Kenadi’s legacy.
