Allan Bertram steps down as RC Central girls basketball coach

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Central is searching for a new head girls basketball coach.

Allan Bertram has resigned after two seasons with the Cobblers to take a job at Mount Marty University in Yankton.

Bertram has coached boys and girls high school basketball for 19 years.

During his time at Central, he led the Cobblers to back-to-back State ‘AA’ girls basketball tournament appearances and this past season tied the regular season record for most wins by any Central girls basketball team.

He leaves the school with a record 28-19 over two years.

In 2018, he co-founded the Sacred Hoops Basketball Academy, one of the largest basketball programs in the state.

Bertram will now be the head women’s basketball coach at Mount Marty University.

According to Rapid City Central Activities Director Jordan Bauer, a search for his replacement will begin immediately.
