Active COVID cases fall, hospitalizations rise in North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. — On Monday, the North Dakota Department of Health reported 45 new positive cases of COVID-19 and a daily positivity rate of 3.09%.

Active cases fell by 34 to 571.

69 additional people have recovered from the virus; 97,836 have recovered so far in the pandemic.

25 people are currently hospitalized, up four from Sunday. Three of those patients are in the intensive care unit.

The following counties have recorded new positive cases:

  • Cass County (Fargo) – 19 cases
  • Burleigh County (Bismarck) – five cases
  • Ward County (Minot) – five cases
  • Williams County (Williston) – two cases
  • Grand Forks County (Grand Forks) – one case

Three new deaths were added over the weekend, bringing the states death toll to 1,445 since the pandemic began.

133,262 North Dakota residents (18.2%) have received the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 74,488 residents (10.2%) have received two doses.
