Abbott House opens new boys home in Rapid City

Abbott House in Rapid City celebrated the opening of a foster home for boys with an Elevate ribbon cutting.

In South Dakota there were 1,560 children in foster care in 2018 according to the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System.

The majority of the children live with families to whom they are not related.

To help meet the needs for foster care, Abbott House is celebrated the opening of its fourth Bridges Therapeutic Foster Home in Rapid City.

During the celebration, Abbott House youth will unveiled ‘INSPIRE’, a 2013 Harley Davidson Road King, as part of the Build Abbott project, 24 youth from four Bridges by Abbott House therapeutic foster homes rebuilt the bike as they rebuild their lives.
