A winter storm is coming this week, but how is the weekend looking?
RAPID CITY, S.D. – Let’s check out what the weather will be like as we head into the last full week of February.
Temperatures will start out mild but drop quickly as a strong winter system pushes through the area. An arctic air mass will bring us temperatures that we haven’t seen for a while. By Friday, temperatures will begin to rise again, and even get above freezing for the weekend!
Will we get any precipitation?
Definitely! A major winter storm is headed out way. We’ll receive several inches of snow across the state. Here’s the full, detailed forecast on the upcoming storm.
Will it be windy?
Monday through Wednesday will be the windiest days this week. the wind will die down with the snow on Thursday, making for some calmer conditions to end the week.
What should I wear?
Break out all of your snow gear for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It will be very snowy and very cold. We’ll see a 45 degree drop in high temperatures from Tuesday to Wednesday, so make sure you dress warm.
Compared to the rest of the week, the weekend is looking pretty good! The weekend will bring us the more mild temperatures and weather that we’ve grown accustomed to this February.
