A sure sign that spring is on the way: Armadillos opens for the season
RAPID CITY, S.D. — A true sign that spring is on the way – no, not the unseasonably warm weather – Tuesday was the opening day for Armadillos in Rapid City.
“We’re also thankful to the community and just how they’ve supported us over the years,” says co-owner Austin Brummer. “We’re excited and ready to serve them.”
That community was ready, with a steady stream of customers taking advantage of the 60-degree weather.
If you’re looking for something different to try, Brummer has a suggestion.
“My favorite flavor is our cinnamon red. It’s like those red hots. It is…It’s so good. You’ll eat it…you’re eating ice cream…and you’ll almost sweat while you’re eating it,” Brummer adds. “It’s great.”
Armadillos is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Those hours will be extended as we get into the summer season.
