9 PHOTOS AND HIGHLIGHTS: SD Mines splits double header with Regis
RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines and Regis University split a men’s and women’s double header on Saturday at Goodell Gymnasium.
Men’s Basketball
SD Mines def. Regis University, 83-82 in overtime
Brevin Walter hit a game-winning layup at the buzzer and South Dakota Mines defeated Regis, 83-82 in overtime.
Walter led the Hardrockers with 24 points and nine rebounds.
Trase Olsen finished with 16 points followed by Keagen Smith with 14 points.
South Dakota Mines is now 2-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
The Hardrockers will hit the road for games against Colorado School of Mines and MSU Denver next Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10.
Women’s Basketball
Regis University def. SD Mines, 77-48
Regis University defeated the Lady Hardrockers on Saturday, 77-48.
SD Mines only trailed by nine points at halftime.
But the Rangers outscored the Hardrockers in the second half, 45-25.
The Hardrockers were led by Madelyn Heiser with 13 points followed by Lauren Herman with 9 and Sydnee Durtsche with 7.
South Dakota Mines falls to 1-1 in the conference and 1-7 overall.
The Hardrockers will play at Colorado School of Mines and MSU Denver on Dec. 9-10.
