35th Annual Hills Alive Festival kicks off this weekend
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The 35th Annual Hills Alive Christian Music Festival will be held both Saturday and Sunday this weekend from noon until 10 p.m.
Memorial Park will host the event in which over 20,000 people will gather each day to enjoy free concerts of some of the top names in the christian music industry.
This year, the event will host a youth ministry in the form of a skateboarding demo in the west parking lot.
Also new this year is a cafe tent featuring a small acoustic stage with picnic tables and area to eat.
Organizers are excited to be able to host the events after the hiatus last year.
“We would just love to see you there,” said Haley Powell, Hills Alive Festival Director and Events Coordinator. “This is a great opportunity, especially after this last year-and-a-half that we’ve had to just get together and worship the lord and praise him for his goodness and I think sometimes it’s hard to see the blessings in those dark times – those tough times. But if we’re really looking and we change that perspective, we’re going to see god in just about everything.”
Sunday’s event will start with community worship at noon with baptisms to follow at Memorial Lake.
