3 people dead in small plane crash near Chadron, Nebraska

CHADRON, Neb. — Three people have reportedly died in a small plane crash near Chadron, Nebraska.

The crash involved a twin-engine Beech Baron similar to the one pictured above.

The crash happened on Wednesday afternoon about 3 miles from the town and a half-mile from the Chadron Municipal Airport.

According to the Associated Press, the pilot and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. They have not yet been identified.

According to an initial investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was a two-engine Beechcraft Baron 55 and was registered out of Sebastopol, California. It appeared to be approaching the airport when it crashed.
