25 new west river COVID-19 cases, no new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. — On Sunday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 129 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing its total to 9,605.

The department of health also reported no new coronavirus-related deaths. The statewide death total stands at 146.

25 cases were reported west river – 10 in Pennington County, three each in Butte County, Custer County, Lawrence County, and Meade County, one each in Corson County, Lyman County, Oglala Lakota County, and Ziebach County.

In Pennington County, a total of 891 people have tested positive for the virus while 737 have recovered; 122 cases are considered active in that county.

There are currently 1,125 active cases in the state, up 101 from Saturday.

27 more people recovered on Saturday, leaving the state’s total number of recoveries at 8,334.

There are 55 people who are currently hospitalized due to the coronavirus. A total of 876 people have ever been hospitalized.
