20th Annual Counts Car Show wraps up another year
The 20th Annual Counts Car Show, hosted by the Counts of the Cobblestone Car Club at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, is now in the books.
The three-day event showcased cars of all years and backgrounds. Onlookers admired the three rooms filled with nearly 100 cars.
Three judges spent hours Friday night, meticulously combing over each car, picking out those deserving of top prizes. Awards were announced Saturday evening. At least 30 trophies and various plaques were handed out for various categories.
A 1968 Camaro from Hermosa won the top prize, best in show, for a cash prize and bragging rights.
The cars packed up and hit the road after the event wrapped up at 3 p.m.
President of the Counts of the Cobblestone, Mark Zallar, says turnout since Friday was great, despite the weather. He said he’s pleased to see so many people turn out for an event that goes right back to the community.
“We have some local charities. We don’t do national charities anymore, just all local charities,” said Zallar. “We split out our money from the proceeds between eight different charities.”
