2020 Black Hills Film Festival happening soon

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills Film Festival is returning to our area for the 11th year.

This year’s festival will include documentaries, short films, feature films and even student films. On Tuesday, Dan Dickey with the Black Hills Film Festival told Samantha Chadwell on NewsCenter1-Today that this is a great opportunity for the public to check out some of the productions that are not only put together by people in South Dakota, but also to see different films that were shot here as well.

“One of the feature film winners is about a woman who was involved with A.I.M. American Indian Movement back in the 70’s. She continues to be active and she was involved with the pipeline as well as her daughter. So that’s a feature film ad we’ll be having other films that will be suitable to all sorts of audiences throughout the Black Hills,” said Dan Dickey with the festival.

Four cities will be participating this year. The Journey Museum and the Elks Theater in Rapid City will have showings and there will also be showings happening in Hill City, Hot Springs and Spearfish.
