2018 Bell Ringers needed to bring comfort and joy

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Volunteer and paid bell ringers are needed to staff multiple kettle locations at storefronts in Rapid City and in the Northern Hills cities of Belle Fourche, Lead, Spearfish and Sturgis.

Bell Ringing begins Thursday Nov. 15 (in Rapid City) and Friday Nov. 16 (Northern Hills), and runs through Christmas Eve, Dec 24.

As a long-standing tradition of The Salvation Army since 1891, presidents, Hollywood, pro sport celebrities, the music industry, corporations, local media, civic clubs, churches, businesses and the communities they serve, have all embraced bell ringing.

The Salvation Army hopes to raise $166,000 in Kettle and counter top kettles during the months of November and December, as a part of their total Christmas fundraising effort to raise $380,000 in kettles, mail in and internet donations.

The signs above our red kettle stands which posts the message “Doing The Most Good.”

It is a testimony to the faithfulness of God and the generosity of the Black Hills community.

With local support we can provide food and toys at Christmas; and food, clothing, utilities and other needed programs and social services throughout the year.

“We encourage you to shop at the locations hosting one of our bell ringers as they are helping us to provide much needed services to those in need,” says Major Nathan Johnson.
