20-year-old identified in Tuesday morning crash northwest of Winner

WINNER, S.D. — A 20-year-old man has been identified as the person who died early Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash northwest of Winner.

Fredrick Whiting, Jr. of Winner was northbound on 314th Avenue in a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup when he lost control near the intersection of 275th Street and 314th Avenue and rolled. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

Whiting, Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and all information is only preliminary.
