15 new COVID-19 cases in west river, no new deaths
PIERRE, S.D. — The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota rose by 55 Sunday, putting the state’s total at 6,681.
Across the state, 838 cases are considered active. That number is up 20 from Saturday. 35 people recovered from the virus on Sunday, leaving the state’s total number of recoveries at 5,752.
15 new cases were found west river – ten in Pennington County, two in Lyman County, and one case each in Fall River County, Oglala Lakota County, and Ziebach County.
A total of 507 people have tested positive for the virus in Pennington County, while 354 have recovered. 135 cases are currently active in Pennington County.
Minnehaha County, which holds the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota, reported 12 new cases. Nearly 3,600 people have tested positive for the virus in that county alone while 3,314 have recovered.
The number of currently hospitalized people from the virus is 75. That number is up two from Saturday. A total of 652 people have ever been hospitalized from the coronavirus.
No new deaths were reported Sunday, leaving the state’s total at 91.
