1+1 Giveaway- Callie Klopfenstein

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Local teachers remain hard at work to keep students engaged, especially in classrooms with young students. Newscenter1 partners with First Interstate Bank to award $500 to a teacher so they can help further their classrooms.

Callie Klopfenstein is a kindergarten teacher at General Beadle Elementary School. She says she loves working with kids and watching them grow, and was inspired by her dad’s impact during his 18 years as a teacher in the Pine Ridge area.

Callie’s energy and excitement shows in her classroom, where she introduces the kids to reading, writing, and math, and keeps them engaged with quick dance breaks. She’d like to get some more educational and fun materials for her curriculum.

“I’m thinking that maybe we’ll look to getting some new books. I would also love to get some new games, and potentially some wobble chairs because I think they really need to sit on the wobble chairs and help them to focus,” she says.
